Las Vegas NV Temple
Dawning of Brighter Hope
New light experiences happen in the early morning. They can be hopeful and welcoming.
As I painted this temple the last five months, I had in my mind the feeling of hope that the early morning brings as the sun first burns its new kind of light on each part of my environment.
Stand in front of this painting and feel the sun creeping steadily but surely down the spires of the temple as it rises. I also wanted to paint the doorway with light from within so that you could feel the welcome of that new kind of warm light as you imagine that you enter the temple while standing in front of this painting.
The gospel light brings the new light of joy into a family. It creeps steadily but surely through our souls bringing a Dawning of Brighter Hope.
(I often heard the hymn "The Morning Breaks" in my mind as I painted this hopeful painting.

Each painting is an Original Giclee painting. These are “multiple originals” meaning it is the first time it exists as an original when it is printed. Similar to original etchings from a plate.
Kendall's new medium “Giclee painting on canvas” (or fine art paper) is a new exciting way to actually paint. This new painting medium has many ingredients which intermingle through the whole process. This painting material is obtained from a palette which includes, among other things, photographs mingled with color elements and brush strokes in the digitized environment of the computer.
In this environment he can paint his feelings and imagination with liquid details. He also has complete control of every element of the painting. Each element is painted using deliberate choices and actions to complete the spirit of the painting. The final ingredient is the Giclee process of rendering the painting on canvas. Kendall's paintings each take about a year to paint.
Kendall, personally prints each painting with the highest possible quality materials. He affectionately calls his printer “my paint brush”. This fine art painting is a Giclée printed onto museum quality fine art paper or canvas. Giclée provides the most accurate and sharpest archival printing results possible. The inks have over 100 year achievability. With a beautiful tonal transitions with a wide colour gamut.
